well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, excluding the first and last 20 minutes of course - got the scoreline right once more and my prediction of "playing into their own hands" I'm sad to say came true as well.
the first 20 minutes was just an Arsenal flood that we somehow survived and with our first attack Maida goes and scores an amazing goal that was straight out of the old West Ham school of slick football.
that, and mainly the increasing pressence of Carroll up fornt, seemed to hold Arsenal back but then we go and concede a few minutes before half time. For the goal, apart from the defence, the main culpirt was one of our members who minutes before Giroud scored commented that he has yet to score in the league...
second half was a proud performance from West Ham as we definetely looked them in the eye and gradually winning the midfield battle...or were we?
as I said to the boys, I had the bad feeling we were falling into a Wenger trap: letting us go forward, get tired and in the last 20 minutes hit on the break.
surely enough, after the inclusion of Walcott this was exactly what happened and we were mugged once more.
a good thing that can come out of it is the fact that we definetely gave them a game and we can take heart from that. I'm not too bothered losing by a master tactician like Wenger and again as I was saying in the beginning of the game the more importnat ones for us are the six pointers, like the Southampton home game up next.
WE ARE THOSE [CENSORED] S IN CLARET & BLUE!!!
